Lagan MEICA and Charles Brand delivered the Magheramason Wastewater Treatment Works on behalf of Northern Ireland Water. Works involved the design, procurement, construction, commissioning, testing, demolition, de-commissioning, operation and maintenance of all civil, mechanical and electrical elements of the Works.

The plant provides a robust system capable of producing high quality effluent with respect to carbonaceous BOD removal only. On what was an extremely tight site, the construction of the works was multi-phased to ensure that the existing plant performance and consent could always be maintained and that daily operations were unaffected. As part of a value engineering initiative, the existing upward flow storm tank was reused with and upgrade to the storm return system.
